Abstract
Background/Aims: Various TLSOs have been used to treat scoliosis. There are various complications because it is difficult to objectively evaluate the degree of corrective pressure applied by TLSOs and the pressure can¡¯t be controlled. In order to prevent complications and to achieve successful treatment, we developed a system that monitors the pressure applied to a pressing part for curved correction in real time and sends it to a smartphone application to monitor the wearing condition.

Methods: Three pressure sensors and analog-to-digital converters were used for pressure data collection. It was developed through separate printed circuit board design for pressure measurement control and wireless transmission module. We used Android smartphone development tools and Android Java programming language for pressure monitoring.

Result: The pressure was measured through the sensor while wearing TLSO, and the measured data was transmitted to the smartphone. The developed application was able to adjust the pressure threshold, and was able to monitor by storing and graphing the collected pressure data.

Conclusion: The smartphone application developed in this study was able to monitor the application of appropriate pressure to the pressure area with the TLSO being worn. Through the application of other types of orthosis to the scoliosis patients, it will be able to provide basic data.
